Athletics Certification

1.0 PURPOSE

This procedure establishes guidelines pursuant to NCAA Bylaw 22 ensuring the institution adheres to the NCAA Athletics Certification operating principles and measurable standards.

2.0 POLICY

The policy of The University of Texas is to ensure that it meets the expectations outlined in the NCAA Athletics Certification Program on a continuous basis.

6.0 PROCEDURE

6.1 The Associate Athletics Director (AADC) ensures that one member from the institution annually enrolls in the NCAA Athletics Certification Peer Review Team's Training Program.

6.2 The AADC ensures there is a designated institutional representative for the NCAA Athletics Certification Liaison in the NCAA on-line directory by December 15 each year.

6.3 The AADC ensures the institution's designated NCAA Athletics Certification Liaison updates the annual working timeline to extend ten years into the future and incorporate any NCAA requirements by December 15 each year.

6.4 The AADC ensures that the institution's designated NCAA Athletics Certification Liaison reviews the institution's NCAA Athletics Certification Report and ensures all outlined initiatives are up to date and being fulfilled as outlined by December 15 of each year.

6.5 The AADC ensures that the athletics councils annually conduct an audit of Bylaw 22 to incorporate in the annual report to the president of the state of athletics compliance.
