2.00 Administrative Control

2.02.1 Policy Formulation

Policies affecting the operation and administration of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics are formulated by the joint efforts of the President of the University and the Directors of Athletics.  The Athletics Council is advisory to both the President and the Directors of Athletics.  In developing policies for student-athletes and departmental staff, it is important to remember:

• Student-athletes are subject to the same academic standards and Institutional Rules on Student Services and Activities (a.k.a. Institutional Rules) as their fellow students, as well as the Longhorn Student-Athlete Manual.

• Departmental staff is subject to the policies affecting University employees as outlined in the University Handbook of Operating Procedures, The University of Texas at Austin Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Policies And Procedures Manual, and The University of Texas at Austin Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Student-Athlete Manual.
